Drop it off

Introduction

Drop it off is a mobile app that provides swift and secure delivery services for businesses and individuals looking to deliver product to either personal or clients with swift and easy, without the need to wait for 1-2 days. Unlike regular courier services drop it off leverage the power of technology to provide swift service

Problems

While looking at the delivery service industry, a lot of the time especially small businesses who have clients who want their product the same day somewhat becomes difficult because courier companies usually deliver in 1-2 days, this leaves businesses rejecting potential business because they cannot deliver the good in time for the client to use it

Solutions

Drop it off app take a collection of independent users with bicycle, cars or motorcycles, they verify them and add them to their database this allow users and businesses who require instant delivery to order a design based on distance and a driver from that area is assigned the pickup and delivery is done instantly, there is no need for the delivery to go through the warehouse to be repackaged, it gets taken to the recipient immediately its collected from the sender, and recipient are verified before receiving the parcel to avoid delivery to wrong recipient.

During the research phase we started with finding how businesses are doing with regards to delivering to their clients and how it’s affecting their business in general, it was clear that most business use different courier that delivers 1-2 days, even though they are not very happy with that they can’t seem to find alternatives that focuses solely on their need to send parcel to their clients immediately.

Most individual who want to send quick package to friends and family were also concerned that while they use e-hauling service to send these this most of the drivers have no regards for they package and sometimes the person who arrive to pick up is different from the face on the app. Many would love to see a company dedicated solely on delivery and verted drivers that can be responsible.

Conceptualization

During the Conceptualization process all the result from the research and user interviews were taking into consideration, formatting  a flow where users can easily access expedient delivery, check their delivery status, and recipient don’t have to be registered to have receive their package was key

Design

Users and business needed to be able to access their delivery history, they needed to be confident that the delivery would be given to the right recipient and, all this and information from the research help shaped how the design flow should go.

High Fidelity Screens

After the wireframe and LowFi several iterations where done between I and the client team, this gave quit a good insight of what was important to them and how they would also like to present information to their users, I used clients feed on the low fidelity to begin implementing style to create the first initial HiFi Screens.

Interactive Prototype

Prototyping was done in figma showing each flow. I continued to work on elements that that improved user experience and usability of the app.

Developer handoff

After several iterations with client and his team we finalize of the design and handed over to the developers along with padding and color profiles used in the project
